Introducing coNea
The next-generation textile material from OceanSafe
coNea is a patented, groundbreaking biosynthetic material designed to replace conventional textiles at scale.
Made from 100% bio-based feedstock, coNea is a proprietary compound of PHA, PBS, and lignin, sourced in part from fermentation and waste residues. It contains no cellulosic content and is produced in chip form. These chips are then processed through extrusion and melt-spinning to create high-performance staple fibers and filament yarns.
coNea is engineered for complete biodegradation – without the need for additive technologies – and is entirely free of hazardous substances or toxicants.

Usage and Performance
coNea closely mimics the qualities of natural fibers and offers an exceptionally soft hand feel.
Its hydrophilic nature enables excellent moisture absorption, enhancing comfort and breathability in textiles.
It will be available in both fiber and filament form and can be blended with natural or man-made materials for a wide range of applications.

Industrially Scalable
coNea is fully compatible with existing textile machinery, making it a true drop-in technology. This ensures seamless integration across the textile value chain and enables large-scale production to meet growing market demand.
Development Status
coNea is currently in its pilot development phase, with market launch planned for 2026.
We are committed to keeping our partners and customers updated as development progresses – stay tuned for more news and insights.
