What is naNea?
naNea is the first synthetic textile material that has reached the strict Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold standard. It is designed to replace conventional polyester and is available as yarns, fibers and chips.
The benefits
Most importantly, naNea lasts and performs just as well as conventional polyester and may be treated as such.
It is a great fit for sportswear, outdoor and functional apparel. Moreover, it is suitable for home textiles and technical applications, such as automotive.
naNea characteristics
naNea emits no persistent microplastics. It is both toxicant-free and inherently biodegradable in soil and marine environments. Most importantly, its biodegradation process is not powered by additive technology. Additionally, naNea is chemically recyclable through depolymerization. Another aspect that we set great value on are the working conditions under which textile materials are produced. Hence, naNea is exclusively produced in socially responsible facilities.
These characteristics make it truly circular, therefore safe to (re-)enter the technical and biological cycles.
Technical properties
Major benefits of naNea are its technical properties:
• Inherently flame-retardant
• Soft hand-feel
• Hydrophilic
• Long-lasting
• Washable at 60°C
Drop-in technology
Our technology is highly industrially scalable as it is based on industrially vastly available raw materials. Switching to naNea in manufacturing is therefore simple as all needed materials are market-ready today.
Additionally, naNea may be processed on conventional manufacturing machinery. This is true for any production process like dyeing, knitting, weaving, and finishing.
